Read these pages to discover simple ways to reduce your impact

  • Ensure your group is represented in the Sustainability committee. Contact sustainability@ch.cam.ac.uk for details.
  • Follow the University guidelines for sustainable business travel.
  • Ask about enrolling your lab into our RIG level LEAF scheme, a programme set up by UCL to improve the sustainability and efficiency of laboratories. More information regarding LEAF certification within RIGs is to follow soon.
  • Consider how your group can reduce and replace single-use laboratory plastics (more on this to come).
  • Join the Cambridge tradition and get on your bike. Read about our bike schemes and deals. And did you know the University has provided a number of bicycle repair stations throughout the city in case you get stuck?
  • Separate your food waste from dry waste, so that we can transform the concept of waste into resource recovery. See how Mountain Recovery handles our waste.
  • Read electronic journals, not printed ones.
  • Use jugs of tap water instead of bottled water in meeting rooms.
